A Little About Me

Background

My name is Caleb Perez. I graduated from New Kent County High School in 2007 and shipped off to the military a week later. I spent four years in the U.S. Marines Corps serving our great country and then decided to get out to pursue other goals. After separating from the military, I spent the next four years going to college. In 2015 I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a major in accounting. I have spent the past two years working in a corporate setting as a Sr. Financial Analyst for a large health system in Virginia.

My Passion

After working in the corporate environment for the past couple of years, I came to the realization that my passion was for small businesses. There are a large number of business owners that have brilliant business ideas, but difficulty managing the day-to-day accounting activities that are necessary and required to maintain a successful business. My goal is to help those small business owners by taking care of their accounting needs so that they can focus on their business's operations.

I started planning to establish my business in the beginning of 2016, and I made it a reality on September 24,2016 when I formed Tidewater Small Business Bookkeeping, LLC. This is a part-time venture that I am pursuing until the time is right for me to transition it to a full-time endeavor. At the moment, I am offering bookkeeping services for small businesses physically located anywhere from Newport News, VA to Richmond, VA. My goal is to offer accounting, tax planning and tax filing services, along with the current bookkeeping services, when I move my operations from part-time to full-time. Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy, and I hope to help facilitate growth of small businesses by providing them with my accounting services.
